Commercial Transportation Training Center
Clark State CDL training school has been in operation for 29 plus years. We have a solid reputation with local carriers. We offer a 5 week (200 hour) class "A" CDL course (Monday through Friday 8 to 5) which consist of 10 days of classroom training covering all the information you will need to be successful in the trucking industry. Then you will go to our training grounds for 3 weeks of training with our tractor trailers learning how to properly inspect, do backing maneuvers, couple and uncouple a tractor trailer, shifting skills, and safely drive an 18 wheeler on the highway. This is all in preparation to take your final driving exam at the exam site in Springfield.
The cost for the training is $5,500.00 and this tuition includes the DOT physical and drug screen, learner’s permit, HazMat endorsement training, testing at the exam site using our equipment, books and study materials, and the final CDL license.
We also offer a CDL Class B 3 week training course which will allow you to obtain the CDL Class B license. Cost for this training is $3,000.00
Classes start every 5 weeks, class size ranges from 9 to 15 students and ratio is 3 students to one instructor.
Our courses are not long enough to be eligible for any type of FPELL or student loans. Typically students pay cash, take out a loan, or if unemployed can get funding through their local Ohio Means Jobs One-Stop agencies in their county.
We do assist with placement. We have about 30 Motor Carriers for CDL Class A Jobs that will hire our students out of school and several Class B Carriers as well.
You can visit our website at www.clarkstate.edu and click on the Workforce Training top right then Truck Driver on the left.
